How Long do Cold Packs Last

If you’re shipping out something, you may need a cold pack. Medication, perishables, and other items may need this if they don’t want something to get spoiled when on the way there. While warmer weather does offer a different kind of factor to it, here’s the tips and general info on how long the cold packs last.

How long do the reusable Ones Last

If you’re using store-bought kinds of packs, in general, it’s about 24-36 hours before they’re unable to be used. This can be a big problem with shipping getting delayed, or even problems with logistics too if you have problems with keeping everything orderly. But there are ways to offer a better more fitting type of process in order to ship everything quickly, and safely.

Types of Packs

There are different kinds of cold packs that you can use to help keep everything nice and lasted. Usually, these are all made from nontoxic materials that are safe and food and are made to be leakproof in most cases. Cold bricks are usually good for those temperature sensitive, since they can keep the items at the right temperatures, and they can help keep products from getting thawed by up to 12 days at least. They also are leakproof too, so you don’t have to worry about the items leaking in most cases.

There are also gel packs too that you can use, which don’t have one specific number to them, but they can keep everything food safe for a little while longer, and also are leakproof in most cases too. There are also cold packs that can help prevent condensation too, especially if you’re shipping to a place that’s kind of humid. They also are made to be puncture-resistant and flexible too, offering the best performance and strength possible.

Tips for this

There are a few tips that you can use in order to keep everything nice and cold. Even the right and best cold packs don’t work well if the shipping materials don’t work. An insulated liner is the best way to fully protect the packaging from thawing in a lot of cases. Normally, you don’t need a container that’s special for this, since usually cardboard boxes with the correct liners and a cold pack can offer a better, more consistent cooling for lots of people for a little bit longer than usual.

You also need to choose the right container for this, to help offer the best experience for the pack. For example, for a small item, save the large box, but instead put it in something small and fitting. That way, you don’t need to worry about product damage, and also will help to reduce the amount of cool air you need to keep things fresh.

Finally, you want to make sure that everything that you ship is snug, but also not so tight that it will explode or cause problems. Be mindful of this when you ship the right items that you need to. With items that are perishables, you need to make sure you choose the right option.

In general, our average cold pack can last about a day to a day and a half, but for those products that are going to larger places for longer, you may want something more advanced, that keeps things fresh for at least 10 to 12 days for best results. Be smart though with the packaging, and remember it boils down to that too, so be mindful of such when you are putting together these high-quality products as well too.
